Terry Young

Board of Directors Chair

With more than 30 years of experience in Ontario’s electricity sector, Terry Young is a well-known spokesperson and thought leader on energy. Terry had an extensive career at the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), and before his retirement in June 2021, he held the position of Interim President and CEO.

As Vice-President of Policy, Engagement and Innovation, Terry had the executive responsibility for developing and delivering the IESO innovation mandate and designing and delivering the province-wide conservation program. He was also responsible for government relations, stakeholder engagement, communications, and Indigenous relations. Since leaving the IESO, Terry has stayed active in the electricity sector.

Terry is a member of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte and a strong advocate for Canadians living with kidney disease.
