Service Layouts

Service Layouts

When is a service layout required?

If you’re doing work at an existing property or connecting a new service, a service layout may be required to book the time call with our metering and operations teams.

You will require a service layout if you’re completing any of the following work:

  • Service upgrade (increase amperage)
  • New build/services
  • Temporary service connections
  • Service changes (for example, overhead to underground)
  • Meter base relocations
  • Adding additional meters to a service location
  • Generator / transfer switch installation
  • Installing an EV charger
  • Connecting streetlights

Service layouts take approximately three weeks to complete from the date the request was submitted to GrandBridge Energy, depending on the scope of work.

Once the request form is received in our Engineering Department, an email confirmation will be issued. The final service layout will then be emailed to the point of contact requested on the form.
A Technologist will contact you if they require more information and/or a site visit. Once the layout has been sent, please follow the steps for servicing in the layout notes.

When is a service layout not required?

If you are completing a panel change, meter base change or a meter base repair, with no upgrades or relocations, a service layout is NOT required. You can proceed to book the cut and hold by contacting our Customer Service Team at 1-877-871-2215. There is no charge for a cut and hold during regular business hours. Reconnection requests after 3:30 p.m. are subject to overtime charges.

Service Change - Multi-Unit Projects

Small Commercial / Residential

If you’re changing the service from one meter to multiple meters/units, a service layout is required, as well as the documents listed below. Please submit all applicable forms to our Customer Service Team or complete the Multi Unit Conditions of Service form below, which enables you to upload all the required documentation.

We cannot schedule a service change time call without all the appropriate paperwork.

  • Multi-Unit Conditions of Service Form.
  • Application for New Service for the new residential account(s).
  • Application for New Service for the new commercial account(s).
  • A letter from the appropriate City/Township/County authorizing multi units at the property.
  • Drawing/sketch of the property showing the location of the meter bases and entrances to each unit, properly labelled.
  • Pictures of the meter bases and entrances, permanently labelled prior to the installation of any new meters.
  • Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) notification number is required to book the time call. Hard copy connection authorization is required for reconnection and new installations/connections.
