GrandBridge Energy is alerting customers to an increase in scam activity targeting electricity users both online and by phone.
Recently, fraudulent social media posts have been circulating under names such as the “Canadian Bill Relief Program” and the “Ontario Utility Bill Relief Program,” claiming to offer hydro credits. These offers are not legitimate. Customers are reminded that the Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP) is administered by the Ontario Energy Board. Applications can be completed safely online at https://ontarioelectricitysupport.ca/, and the program is not at risk of running out of funds.
In addition, some customers have reported receiving phone calls from individuals claiming to offer a special government electricity rate referred to as “ULO.” These unsolicited offers are also scams. GrandBridge Energy does not contact customers in this manner to promote rate plans.
Customers who wish to choose or change their electricity rate plan can do so at any time by visiting the GrandBridge Energy website or by logging into their My Account or visit our Rates page for more information.
GrandBridge Energy encourages customers to remain cautious, avoid sharing personal or account information, and verify any suspicious claims through official sources. If something doesn’t feel right, it’s best to pause and confirm before taking action.
