GrandBridge Energy is inviting residents across its service territory to take part in an online Electrical Safety Survey running from Feb. 9 through March, aimed at measuring community awareness of common electrical hazards and promoting safer behaviours.
The short survey, conducted by UtilityPULSE, includes six safety-focused questions related to the most frequent incidents involving electricity. Topics include overhead and underground powerlines, green transformer equipment, and other everyday electrical hazards. It takes only a few minutes to complete and is open to anyone aged 18 and over living in Cambridge, Brantford, the County of Brant, or the Township of North Dumfries.
“Electrical safety extends beyond utility workers and plays an important role in everyday community life,” said Christie Stemmler, director of customer experience with GrandBridge Energy. “We encourage families to use the survey as a learning opportunity by talking together about common powerline hazards in their neighbourhood.”
The survey is completed entirely online and does not collect identifying or financial information. Some basic demographic questions are included to help ensure the results accurately reflect the community.
GrandBridge Energy is required by the Ontario Energy Board to conduct a Public Awareness of Electrical Safety Survey every two years. The results contribute to the utility’s performance reporting and help guide future electrical safety education and outreach efforts aimed at reducing risk and preventing incidents.
