GrandBridge Energy Seeks OEB Approval for GridShare Non-Wires Capacity Program

GrandBridge Energy is pleased to announce the launch of GridShare, an innovative Capacity Auction Program, designed to help relieve grid capacity constraints and enhance overall grid resiliency.

The first step in launching this exciting program is applying to the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) for approval of its Non-Wires Solution (NWS) Program. GrandBridge Energy submitted its application to the OEB on December 1, 2025.

The NWS Program, also referred to as a Capacity Auction Program, proposes to procure 20 MW of capacity between 2026-2028, during which time a traditional infrastructure investment can be planned and constructed. The application requests OEB approval of NWS rate riders for the period May 1, 2026, through December 31, 2028, for the GBE (formerly Energy+) rate zone, and deferral variance account. GrandBridge Energy application estimates that the NWS Program has a benefit-to-cost ratio of 1.97.

If the application is approved as filed, a GrandBridge Energy’s typical residential customer and a typical general service customer in the GBE (E+) rate zone (i.e., the service territory for the City of Cambridge, Township of North Dumfries and County of Brant) would see the following increase effective May 1, 2026:

Residential (750 kWh): $0.60 cents per month
General Service less than 50 kW (2,000 kWh): $0.80 cents per month
