How We Notify You

Depending on the type of work our crews are doing, there are two types of planned outage classifications. Please ensure your contact information up to date so you receive the proper notification.

Planned Short-Term Outages (less than one hour): When we expect to disconnect your power for less than one hour, we will try to notify you of the outage in advance.

Planned Long-Term Outages (More than one hour): Where a planned outage is expected to last longer than one hour, we aim to provide you with at least two days advance notice. Notifications are sent as automated phone calls or emails. The notice will provide the date of the outage, the duration, and an alternative date in case the outage does not proceed as planned.

Planned Urgent Outages: Urgent outages require quick action for necessary repairs. While not emergencies, they can’t be delayed indefinitely. We aim to provide as much advance notice as possible to help minimize disruption; however, in some cases, the urgency of the repair may not allow for extended notice.

Unplanned Emergency Outages: Unplanned Emergency outages are immediate and essential for safety. They occur within the hour to make critical repairs when crews need to act swiftly to prevent further damage or danger. Advanced notice is not possible in these scenarios.

Prepare for Planned Outages

To protect your safety and that of our crews, here are some essential things you can do to prepare for a planned outage.

  • Make alternative plans to maintain the use of medical support equipment that is dependent on electricity.
  • Ensure your emergency kit is well-stocked. It should include essentials like first aid supplies, batteries, and non-perishable food.
  • Avoid using open flames (like candles) near flammable materials. Have flashlights, lanterns, and candles readily available
  • Ensure that the oven and all burners on the stove are turned OFF at the start of the planned outage and that nothing has been placed on top of the stove that could ignite when the power is restored. GrandBridge Energy is not liable for any resulting loss or damage.
  • Minimize the opening of refrigerator and freezer doors to maintain temperature.
  • Unplug electronic equipment before the outage begins. Televisions and computer equipment are sensitive to surges when the power is restored.
  • Do not use charcoal or gas barbeques, camping heating equipment, or standby generators indoors.
  • Operate a portable generator outdoors, positioned carefully to ensure that fumes do not enter the building.
  • Notify your security company if they are monitoring your home or business.
  • Confirm that you know how to override or manually operate your garage doors.
