GrandBridge Energy Inc. has applied to the Ontario Energy Board for approval to expand its GridShare program, a Non-Wires Solution (NWS), from 2027 to 2031 in its City of Brantford and County of Brant service areas. If approved, there will be a change in its electricity distribution rates in the affected portions of its service territory.
NWS Programs are alternatives to building new electricity infrastructure, such as reducing energy use, shifting demand, or using local generation storage to meet electricity needs more cost-effectively.
The application requests Ontario Energy Board’s approval of NWS rate riders for the period May 1, 2027, through December 31, 2031, for the GBE(E+) Rate Zone (i.e., the service territory of the County of Brant), and for the GBE (BPI) Rate Zone (City of Brantford). GrandBridge Energy submits that the NWS Program has a benefit-to-cost ratio of 3.87.
